Rocket is a B2B eCommerce solution designed to help manufacturers quickly launch and optimize their online sales platforms. By leveraging Salesforce B2B Commerce with custom modules built specifically for the manufacturing sector, Rocket simplifies the buying process, providing business buyers with a modern, efficient experience. As a part of Shift7, a Merkle company, I worked on the design of this product to streamline the user journey and enhance engagement for manufacturers’ customers, ensuring the solution meets the unique needs of the manufacturing industry while delivering a seamless, high-impact digital experience.

Challenge
Manufacturers face the challenge of offering a seamless online buying experience for business buyers. Traditional customer portals are often outdated, complicated, and inefficient. Rocket was developed to address these issues by creating a more intuitive, self-service purchasing platform that meets the unique needs of manufacturers and their customers. The goal was to design a platform that could be quickly implemented, providing fast ROI while maintaining the flexibility needed for future growth.
Approach
My role was to design the user-centered elements of Rocket by focusing on the following:
Streamlined User Experience: I worked on designing an intuitive homepage and simplified product carousels to help buyers quickly find what they need.
Optimized Checkout Flow: By rethinking the checkout process, I designed a faster, smoother cart-to-confirmation experience, reducing friction and improving conversion rates.
Custom Manufacturing Features: I contributed to creating specialized B2B features, including product filters, order history reordering, and customer-specific pricing—essential for B2B buyers.
With a focus on usability, I collaborated with a cross-functional team to ensure the design was scalable, cost-effective, and ready to launch within three months.
Outcome
The Rocket platform provided manufacturers with a modern, easy-to-manage B2B storefront that improved online sales and customer satisfaction. By creating a custom solution built on Salesforce B2B Commerce, the project enabled businesses to accelerate their eCommerce adoption and reduce reliance on outdated processes.
